The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GPU for notebooks now seems to be available for the desktop market as well. In order to use the GA104 GPUs in new models, these models are sold in China.
RTX 3070 Ti for notebooks now also available as a desktop card
The RTX 3070 Ti for notebooks is now being used as a desktop graphics card, sold in China through a retail platform. While this isn’t the first time we’ve seen something like this in the graphics card segment, it is the first time such a powerful notebook GPU has been used for a desktop graphics card model.
The RTX 3070 Ti GPU model features a stripped-down GA104 GPU with a TDP of 220W. The notebook variant has 5888 CUDA cores. The desktop model has higher specs with 6144 CUDA cores, so we have a bit of a cut with the desktop Ti model we have now.
This graphics card is very capable with the latest notebook drivers that allowed it to pass the Geek3D Furmark test, reaching a maximum temperature of 64 degrees with a power consumption of 220W. At this power consumption, this model only requires a single 8-pin connector.
These graphics cards are very popular in Brazil and South Asia and are priced at $414, about $185 less than the models on Newegg.
Users will be forced to use the mobile driver branch and rely on other third-party software provided by the company. The warranty on these graphics cards is limited.
