Problems with Intel’s 10 nm can sink a 20 billion dollar company

It’s no secret that Intel has problems with the 10nm transition, this ambitious manufacturing process has been delayed time and time again, to the point that we’ve already seen four generations of desktop processors under 14nm lithography.

Intel may be responsible for the sinking of a $20 billion company

Whiskey Lake will arrive later this year, launching five generations of products at 14nm, pulverizing Intel’s traditional Tick time frame, Tock. If this ambitious manufacturing process had been on schedule, the company would already be ready to move to 7 nm. It is hoped that the 10 nm will finally be ready by 2019, hopefully, this time it will be fulfilled.

The company’s 10nm problems may have far-reaching implications, especially given the plans to open its smelters to third-party companies in recent years. SemiAccurate reported after an investigation that a technology giant is now under threat of a total collapse due to these delays at 10 nm, it is an unannounced customer that has a market value of $20 billion dollars. This giant had relied on the process 10 nm from Intel to launch its products, Intel’s delays have left it without a plan B. SemiAccurate could not reveal the name of the company in question.

If the Semiaccurate report is accurate, Intel is responsible for the possible collapse of a major technology company, which could put thousands of jobs at risk. If Intel had been more honest about its problems with 10nm from the beginning, the company in question could have gone through an alternative competitive process, something for which it is too late.
