Amazon lists prices for second-generation Ryzens

The second generation Ryzen processors will be a slight improvement on the original models, with a more advanced memory controller, and higher operating frequencies thanks to GlobalFoundries’ 12 nm manufacturing process.

Today, AMD’s second generation Ryzen has been priced, with four models ranging from the 6-core Ryzen 5 2600 / 2600X to the eight-core Ryzen 2700 and 2700X. Unlike the first generation, all of these processors will ship with a standard heatsink, adding a great deal of extra value. The prices have been filtered by Amazon, and are much more affordable than the original Ryzens at the time of their release.

The prices listed are as follows:

  • Ryzen 7 2700X 337,67 euros
  • Ryzen 7 2700 336,46 euros
  • Ryzen 5 2600X 227,77 euros
  • Ryzen 5 2600 214,97 euros.

Prices are very similar to those of Intel’s Core i5 and Core i7, with the extra value for AMD of offering a more substantial number of processing cores. Intel has taken up the challenge with Coffee Lake, offering up to 50% more cores and yarns than in previous generations, which has caused AMD also to have to adjust the prices of its new silicon, blessed competition.
