OnePlus will soon launch a special red edition of its current flagship smartphone OnePlus 6 after the pearly-white one. In Germany, the “OnePlus 6 Red” including 8 gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of flash memory will be available online from next Tuesday.
OnePlus is now launching a special red edition of its current flagship smartphone OnePlus 6. The CEO of the Chinese company, Pete Lau, announced today that the “OnePlus 6 Red” will be available for order from next week.
According to Lau, with the OnePlus 6 Red, the company wants to build on the success of the OnePlus 5T in the limited colour variant “Lava Red”. In addition, the new red for the premium smartphone is intended to underline the manufacturer’s commitment to top quality and elegant, restrained design.
The special red tone for the OnePlus 6 was selected from hundreds of colours according to official information and for the production of the new colour variant, a new coating technology is used for the smartphone industry. A second layer also provides a slight transparency effect and additional brightening of the red surface.
Apart from the new colouring, the OnePlus 6 Red naturally remains unchanged in comparison to the two black variants and the pearl white special edition. The smartphone features a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels, is powered by the Qualcomm SoC Snapdragon 845 and features a 3300 mAh battery and a dual camera system on the back.
Although OnePlus highlights the somewhat more elaborate production due to the new colour coating, it does not require more for the OnePlus 6 Red than for the other colour variants. The red smartphone – exclusively with 8 gigabyte RAM and 128-gigabyte flash memory – is available on the German market for 569 euros. The OnePlus 6 Red will be available through the official OnePlus Online Store from July 10, 2018.
