Plex Announces New Live TV View for tvOS & iOS Apps

In the web browser, Plex can display the new live TV grid. According to a support article, however, an implementation for Apple TV and iOS devices should not be long in coming. With the new raster view, users can expect a kind of TV guide for Plex. The view is already known from many televisions and receivers. The Live TV Guide also brings some cool new features to Plex.

According to the support article, the focus is not only on discovering the TV program, but these can also be filtered according to various criteria, such as “HD channels only” or by day. At the same time, the new view can be used to program the recording of TV content so that no favorite series is missed.

However, the feature has a hook or is linked to a Plex Pass subscription. This can be taken out as a monthly subscription for 4.99 euros, an annual subscription for 39.99 euros or a lifelong subscription for 119.99 euros. By the way, not only the tvOS and iOS devices will get the new feature, but later it will also be released for Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Android and Xbox One. The company has not yet given a timetable for the publication, but it can be expected to roll out over the next few months.
