Pixl-latr is a new solution that allows us to economically convert the images we have on our old photo reels and transparencies to digital photographs.
Basically, they are a series of supports for 35 mm, 120 (up to 6×12) and 5×4 photographic films, where we only have to put the photographic films and transparencies in them and place the whole set on a light source, either in a lightbox if we have it, on top of a tablet with a blank screen or any other homogeneous light source that we can use. In this respect, Pixl-latr has a light diffuser to eliminate imperfections in the rear light sources.
Now we only have to use our camera to take the pictures and then move them to a software where we can make the necessary adjustments, from trimming to reversing colours, among other possible according to the software chosen.
In this sense, we can either use the cameras of our mobile devices and use specialized photographic applications, which are booming (a new update of Adobe Lightroom for Android and iOS, for example, recently arrived), or we can also use our digital cameras, from compact to DLSR, to achieve a better result, then move our captures to more powerful image editing software to make the necessary adjustments.
This way, we don’t need to buy specific devices of higher cost (and higher volume) to convert the photographic films and transparencies into digital images, nor do we have to send them to specialized sites, where with a minimum investment, we will already have the necessary elements to convert our images into digital images.
This solution seeks funding in Kickstarter, whose campaign has already exceeded the target of 9,840 pounds, with 23 more days of the campaign, whose rewards, some of them already sold out, will be sent between August and September of this year, depending on each reward, anywhere in the world.
