Google is already finishing up its new generation of Google Pixel, which will arrive officially in October. Slowly, details about this new generation of phones are becoming known. This weekend it has been filtered that the devices are going to have wireless charging. A major change for the company.
Because we are seeing wireless charging in the high-end of major brands today. But Google had so far resisted. But it seems like it’s going to change.
The Pixel 3 bets on wireless charging
It has been discovered in the user interface in one of the new Pixel 3 that the firm will present in autumn. Although, of course, this is a leak. So we don’t know for sure if this function will be available. But we are seeing more and more media echoing it, so this is likely to be the case.
That would be a major change because Google has been rather reluctant to take up wireless charging so far. They didn’t incorporate it into last year’s phones, and it didn’t look like it was coming this year either. But thanks to this new leak, it feels like it’s finally going to be different.
More details about the new generation of Pixels will probably be leaked over the next few weeks. So we will be watching to see if this new role is officially confirmed. But it looks like we can wait for the wireless charge on the device.
