Today Phanteks introduced its first series of power supplies called RevoltX that can support two powerful devices at the same time. We will get to know these peculiar high-end sources.
Phanteks RevoltX 1000W and 1200W announced with dual system support
First, the general specifications of these power supplies are discussed. The series will have a 1000W version and a 1200W version with 80 Plus Platinum efficiency certification. For both cases, we have a single 12V rail with massive power output, which is good news to avoid power distribution problems and a safety problem.
These power supplies have the ability to power two devices simultaneously, thanks to a custom circuit board that allows them to switch on and off individually and the inclusion of two ATX and four EPS 8-pin connectors. In the latter case, there are up to two connectors for each system. The power supply is of course wired 100% modularly.
These new RevoltX are manufactured by the renowned company Seasonic on the basis of the same platform as the Prime Platinum, which certainly means excellent electrical performance, high efficiency, and outstanding internal components. Proof of this is the extremely long warranty period of Phanteks, which is 12 years as in the Prime series and therefore probably managed by Seasonic itself.
The ability to use two computers at the same time is very interesting, even though few users can benefit from it because there are few solutions on the enclosure market that support two configurations at the same time. These power sources have a recommended price of $230 for the 1000W model and $250 for the 1200 model, which means we can easily mount two high-performance computers with one processor like the i7-8700K or the Ryzen 7 2700X and one graphics card like the GTX 1080.
