The GIF shared by OPPO explicitly mentions Google’s Wear OS. Recall that the original OPPO watch, which was introduced in China, ran a highly customized version of ColorOS tailored for Smartwatches. However, since the overall design looks roughly the same, OPPO seems to have focused on the software as a differentiator for its next-generation Smartwatch.
OPPO launched its first Smartwatch, the OPPO Watch, in early March this year. Now the company has started to try out another Smartwatch, also called OPPO Watch, but it will launch a different software compared to the previous Smartwatch.
In addition to smartphones, the market for smartwatches is still quite large to explore, because as one of the important entries into the era of the Internet of Things, many domestic manufacturers have joined the ranks of the production of smartwatches.
The main difference between the international version of OPPO-Watch is that it is supplied with Wear OS to provide better service to consumers in Western countries. The domestic version of OPPO Watch is equipped with the ColorOS Watch system, which is based on the deep adaptation to Android 8.1, and with the additional eSIM feature, OPPO Watch can share a number directly with the mobile phone terminal, both independent calls, and independent Internet access.
In the first half of this year, OPPO launched the Find X2 series and at the same time launched its first Smartwatch – the OPPO watch series, which has attracted the attention of the majority of users from its launch to the market. Recently, an OPPO official said that the OPPO-Watch will hit the overseas market on 31 July.
We see the familiar display profile with double-curved edges and no visible crown or side buttons, further enhancing the clean aesthetic appearance. We also see several cutouts in the base to accommodate the optical sensor. As it looks, it seems inevitable that the OPPO’s upcoming Smartwatch will draw comparisons with the Apple Watch due to the obvious aesthetic similarities.
