According to a recent report, NVidia has stopped production of the GTX 1080 Ti. While many consumers were eagerly awaiting the launch of the brand new RTX 2080 to get the powerful 1080 Ti at a lower cost, their hopes may be disappointed.
According to a report on the Gamers Nexus website quoting several industry sources, NVidia has already discontinued production of its “old” model released early last year.
The GTX sale has exploded
According to the video of Gamers Nexus, GTX 1080 Ti sales have exploded since the release of the RTX. This is relatively understandable, since the majority of the high-tech press, which had the opportunity to test NVidia’s latest product, reports that although it is very efficient, it is not so different from the benchmarks achieved with its little sister, the RTX.
So the players quickly made their choice: With relatively equal benchmarks, they can also choose the cheapest graphics card of both, the GTX is often displayed at 100 dollars less.
In any case, if this information is confirmed in the future that RTX no longer has any real competition on the market, it is hard to imagine that its price could drop in the near future.
