NVIDIA delays RTX 4090 launch to September or October to avoid overstocking

The market is suffering because mining is at an all-time low and stock is arriving at a time when gamer demand is not the best. For this reason, it seems that NVIDIA will delay the release of its top-of-the-line next-generation graphics card until September or October to avoid flooding the market with products and cannibalizing older models. All of what I’m telling you comes from Videocardz and Greymon55, who agree with what Kopite7kimi and WCCFTech reported a while back. So many sources that have always been quite reliable can’t go wrong.

With cryptocurrencies bleeding out, graphics card prices have more or less returned to normal. Many high-end models, such as the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and Radeon RX 6900 XT, have dropped about a thousand euros below the MSRP (introductory price).

The decision to delay the launch of the RTX 40 series is therefore a reaction to this phenomenon. In addition to the RTX 4090/4080, the low-end GTX 1630 card has also been postponed.

At the moment, sources point to a September or October launch for the RTX 4090, followed by the RTX 4080 in November and the RTX 4070 in December.

Given the normalization of the graphics card market, the new GPUs are likely to be launched at around the same prices. It is possible that the price of the RTX 4090 will increase slightly due to the lack of a competitor, but that should change by the end of the year.
