Nvidia Ampere sourced from the TSMC’s 7nm and Hopper from Samsung’s 5nm node

New details on future NVIDIA Ampere and Hopper GPUs have been revealed by ChinaTimes, a Chinese resource. The first will be based on the 7-nanometer TSMC process, while the latter will be based on the 5-nanometer Samsung process using EUV lithography.

Details are expected to be announced during CEO Jensen Huang’s speech, which will be published in mid-May. However, the announcement of video cards based on the new GPUs will probably be made later.

ChinaTimes reports that NVIDIA has been confirmed as one of TSMC’s largest customers for 7-nanometer chips. Samsung has independently confirmed that it will start production of 5-nanometer chips in the second half of this year.

It should be noted that many companies are now actively selling RTX graphics cards, which is a strong indication that the new Accelerators 3000 line is likely to be launched quickly. They are expected to be launched in August-September.
