In recent days we have talked a lot about Nokia, thanks to some smartphones that have officially arrived on our market and others that will arrive in the coming months. Today, however, we are talking about one of the most devalued Nokia smartphones, the Nokia 6.1, also known as Nokia 6 2018.
The smartphone in question has always been considered a B-series product compared to its “big brother” Nokia 7 Plus. The latter has indeed proved to be one of the most successful devices in the Android One series and will probably be the first in the category to receive an update to Android 9.0 Pie. But Nokia 6.1 is no different: In the last few hours security patches were released in September 2018.
The update weighs about 81 MB so that there should be no special functional innovations besides the security patches. The update was released worldwide in the last few hours and will, therefore, arrive in a few hours or at the latest in a few days. If necessary, you can check the availability of the update yourself in the settings menu of your smartphone.
And what about Android 9.0 Pie? Well, we’ve already said that Nokia 7 Plus will be the first to receive the update to the latest version of the green robot (actually the update would already be “masked” available as beta, as the smartphone has participated in Google’s Developer Preview program), but Nokia 6.1 will also receive the update shortly. HMD Global has announced some weeks ago to upgrade to Android 9.0 Pie by the end of the year, all its devices with Android One on board, including only Nokia 6.1.
Nokia 6.1 is officially available for 279 euros, but it is now easy to find it online at around 200 euros, a price that puts it in competition with Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite.
