Noctua took advantage of the Computex 2018 to unveil several new features, including black versions of its NH-D15, NH-U12S, and NH-L9i fans. The company is also working on several prototypes and announces a 120 mm fan with the prowess of a 140 mm unit. Balance sheet.
NH-U12 evolves
Following the launch of the NF-A12x25 120 mm fan last May, Noctua will democratize its use by integrating it in several future products. The device will find its way to the NH-U12 ventilated.
This solution will embark on two fans in push/pull mode while taking advantage of evolutions. They will concern heat pipelines with seven heatpipes in charge of transporting heat to a set of fins. The latter is promised to be 37% denser than the current version.
The design has been worked to ensure compatibility with RAM and the first PCIe port on the motherboard. This new NH-U12 generation is expected in late 2018 or early 2019.
AirFlox Amplification System from Noctua
A prototype accessory has appeared. Named Airflow Amplification System and attached to a desktop fan, its purpose is to provide a flow of air called “concentrated” in one direction.
In parallel, the professional segment is not forgotten with the use of the NF-A12x25 in the 12cm version of the Intel Xeon LGA3647 coolers. These solutions are announced in 14, 12 and 9 cm and in 1U and 2U versions currently in production.
The firm presented an update of the current NH-L9x65. Scheduled for the first quarter of 2019, this version should increase cooling performance while maintaining a compact form factor.
After the publication of a mysterious photo, Noctua brings the explanation. Its NH-D15, NH-U12S, and NH-L9i fans will arrive in entirely black versions.
Scheduled for the end of the year or early 2019, these innovations will not be alone. This color will also be available for NF-A20, NF-A12x15, NF-A9, NF-A9x14 and NF-A8 fans.
The Redux offer will continue to be enhanced with a simplified but more economical version of the NH-U12S.
NH-U12 – Redux Edition
A reduction in the number of heat pipes and bundled accessories are planned. It should be released in the first quarter of 2019.
Fan Hub 8 ports of Noctua
Finally, Noctua unveiled an 8-port ventilation hub. It can connect, monitor and control up to 8 PWM units. It has the particularity of operating all Noctua 12V fans in 24V environments.
