QNAP has announced the release of two new QNAP QSW-1208-8C and QSW-804-4C switches with eight and twelve 10GbE ports respectively, these new devices will help home and small business users upgrade their systems for tasks that demand high bandwidth in a cost-effective manner.
New QSW-1208-8C and QSW-804-4C 10GbE QNAP switches
The new QNAP QSW-1208-8C switch offers users a total of 12 SFP+ (fiber) and eight SFP+(fiber)/RJ45(copper) ports combined, which are backward-compatible with legacy versions of legacy devices and the IEEE 802.3az standard. As for the QNAP QSW-804-4C, it complies with four ports of each type to offer a more economical proposal.
Both devices are designed to reduce power consumption while maintaining high performance and network quality. Depending on the types and length of cables, different speeds can be achieved to ensure more efficient data transfers.
Both can be used as a desktop or rack-mount solution, for the latter the manufacturer offers a free rack mount system. QNAP has installed an intelligent cooling system on both devices, which adjusts the fan speed according to the cooling requirement, thus achieving the quietest possible operation while maintaining high efficiency.
The QNAP QSW-1208-8C is already on sale, while the QSW-804-4C will be available in May 2018.
