Netflix adds HDR support to a further three Android smartphones

HDR (High Dynamic Range) content is the most recent scream of fashion. They are increasingly appearing not only on personal computers but also on smartphones. This is what is happening with Netflix, which is, after all, a video streaming service – movies and series. The company today announced a new list of supported smartphones.

Netflix cyclically adds the HDR streaming option for newly emerging smartphones. Just as last year he added this option for the Galaxy Note8, so now he adds three new Android devices on board. HDR support will thus be provided for Huawei P20, Huawei Mate 10 Pro, and Sony Xperia XZ2.

Netflix does not mention the Huawei P20 Pro, so it’s not clear whether only the base version (P20) will receive support or both. Similarly, the XZ2 Compact Xperia is excluded from the list of phones that will receive HDR support. These devices are connected to such dozens of devices as Galaxy S9 or iPhone X. Currently, there are 15 phones on the market that have received HDR support from Netflix.

In addition to Netflix, YouTube also supports HDR. The company has already contributed to this over the past year. If you are interested in watching Netflix on your phone in the highest quality, you can take a look at the prices of the latest add-ons to the HDR support list.
