Misty Robotics, a spin-off from Sphero, has just announced the second generation of its programmable robot, Misty II, which had already been exhibited at this year’s ESC, and has just opened its collective funding campaign to raise funds for its development.
Misty Robotics presents the second generation of its programmable robot, the Misty II
Misty II, unlike Misty I, can now have quite a few skills, where you can add more advanced skills to the most basic ones, either by downloading skills from the official website or by programming other skills, for which you can use a system based on visual blocks or based on the APIs available in JavaScript.
This new model, which is considerably improved compared to its predecessor, maintains its basic appearance and is also aimed at a wider range of users. In this regard, Misty Robotics points out that Misty II is aimed at software developers, STEM students, creators, and enthusiastic programmers in the world of robotics, who until now have not been able to program a robot due to the high price of the same.
This model works thanks to the use of two Snapdragon processors and integrates, among other aspects, far-field microphone, 4K camera, speakers, and even sensors that allow you to move around the spaces in complete autonomy, all managed by Windows IoT Core and Android 7. Users will also be able to print 3D accessories for Misty II and thus expand the range of possibilities.
During the 30-day campaign, three price levels have been established, ranging from $1,499, or 50% discount, for the first 250 sponsors to $2,499 for the 75 final sponsors with the “start now” pack.
