Get ready for RDNA 3 vs. Meteor Lake in AMD and Intel portable processors after a leak of the Ultra Core 100.
There will be a battle between Intel and AMD for laptops, at least in terms of iGPU. This benefits all of us because both companies strive to outperform each other in processors with reduced power consumption without using a dedicated GPU. The Intel Core Ultra holds up well, but the Ryzen 7 HS performs quite admirably.
Gaming tests at 1080p: Meteor Lake vs. RDNA 3
The news comes from Bilibili, a highly reputed Chinese forum, specifically from Golden Pig Upgrade, who leaked these slides comparing various chips in 8 games with a resolution of 1080p and the lowest and highest settings.
Starting with the lowest settings, the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H is excellent, while the Ryzen 7 7840HS keeps up and even surpasses it. Meteor Lake outperforms RDNA 3 only in DOTA 2 and LoL, while it’s more competitive in F1 22 and Mount & Blade II Bannerlord.
With the maximum settings, we continue to see that the Meteor Lake laptop chips are on par with the older AMD Ryzen 7000HS chips.
This last piece of information is unclear, but it seems to be related to the average FPS we’ve seen (NVIDIA chips are not included). So, I’ll tell you that the AMD Ryzen 7000HS competes well in this RDNA 3 vs. Meteor Lake. However, the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H is the winning chip.
Efficiency and Memory
If you want to get the maximum FPS with the minimum W, here the King is the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, which sits between the AMD and the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H.
Finally, they ran Time Spy to see the scores, and the LPDDR5 that comes with the U7 155H works wonders. Here the Zen 4 chips are less impressive.
What do you think? Could Intel XeSS be the cause?
