Meizu announced many new smartphones in September, and the Meizu X8 was one of them. This is one of the few devices with a Snapdragon 710 chipset currently being introduced and will be available for a very low price of around $259.
Meizu, located in China, is finally ready to start selling the X8. It will be available on Monday 15 October at 10:00 local time. The phone has been on pre-sale since its announcement on September 19, but now it is time to celebrate its launch. That’s good if you live in China, otherwise, we don’t even know when it will come out in the West.
The Meizu X8 has the legitimate distinction of being the first device from this company to have a notch on the top of its 6.2-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1080×2220 pixels. If we don’t opt for the base model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of memory, we can choose a 6GB/64GB combination for CNY 1,798 ($259) or 6GB/128GB for CNY 1,998 ($288).
The device works with Android 8.0 Oreo with the Skin Flyme UI proprietary exclusively by Meizu and Oreo. The phone features a 12 MP + 5-megapixel dual rearview camera as well as a 20-megapixel front camera. Meizu chose to add a 3,210 mAh battery for this phone, which should ensure very good autonomy.
