ECS introduces LIVA Q2, Liva Z2, and the Liva One SoC mini-PC. In the mini-PC sector, there is the ultra-compact form factor (UCFF). That has left quite exciting models in the last couple of years. Thanks to improved performance and reduced consumption with the latest 14 nm lithographs, Intel’s Gemini Lake processors introduced last December will be ideal for these computers. The manufacturer ECS is a veteran of the mini-PC sector with its LIVA models. And at CES 2018 it presents a model that only measures 70 mm × 70 mm × 33.4 mm, the LIVA Q2.

These processors act as on-chip systems (SoC). Also including connectivity, and this model comes with two- and four-core processors. That is up to a Pentium Silver configurations, such as the J5005 quad-core 1.5-2.8 GHz with a UHD 605. Also, it comes with 2 or 4 GB of LPDDR4 memory, with 32 or 64 GB of eMMC type storage, micro-SD card reader, Bluetooth 4.1, 802.11 ac wifi. It also has an HDMI 2.0 port, a USB 2.0, and a USB 3.0 type C. Also, its price is $ 164 with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, or $ 180 with a Windows 10 license.
Liva Z2 And Liva One SoC
Other mini-PCs with SoC of Gemini Lake type are the Liva Z2 and the Liva One SoC. The former already has a larger size, with 117 mm × 128 mm × 51 mm, and the second has 199.4 mm × 188.3 mm × 45 mm. The first one has two memory banks SO-DIMM type DDR4. The processor configuration is the same, as up to that JW5505 of 10 W of TDP. And the second has an M.2 slot and space for two 2.5-inch units.
The connectivity is varied, with the Liva Z2 we have three USB 3.0, two HDMI and a USB 3.0 C. And the Liva One SoC includes an HDMI, a VGA, two USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0, plus a COM port. The Liva Z2 will go on sale for about $ 225 with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, or $ 240 with a Windows 10 license.
