Due to the limitations of NVIDIA’s proprietary technology coupled with the need to integrate its own LG module, NVIDIA decided to launch two different models: the LG UltraGear 34GK950G-B with G-SYNC and 120 Hz (4ms response time) and the LG UltraGear 34GK950F-B with FreeSync 2 HDR (DisplayHDR 400) and 144 Hz (5ms response time).
LG has unveiled its new line of LG UltraGear desktop monitors aimed at players with premium features. The new monitors have a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels and a size of 34 inches.
LG UltraGear monitors have an aspect ratio of 21:9 with a relatively low brightness of 400 nits and a static contrast of only 1000:1. The LG UltraGear 34GK950G-B offers G-Sync with refresh rates of up to 120 Hz which provides GtG response times of 4 ms, while the LG UltraGear 34GK950F-B is equipped with FreeSync 2 with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and GtG response times of 5 ms.
According to LG, both LCD displays can display 1.07 billion colors while covering 98% of the DCI-P3 color space. There is ULMB support for the LG UltraGear 34GK950G-B monitor and a similar technology for the LG UltraGear 34GK950F-B, this is DAS (Dynamic Action Sync) which is patented by LG and follows the TV play mode to reduce post image processing and reduce delay. There are also brightness settings for different game modes and black stabilization technology.
And both monitors feature video inputs in the form of 1x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI (LG UltraGear 34GK950F-B includes 2x HDMI), a dual/triple USB 3.0 hub, 1 audio input, and 1 headphone output. Visually, the LG UltraGear 34GK950F-B has a red illumination on the back of the case, while the LG UltraGear 34GK950G-B has a six-color illumination for the ring on the back.
The prices for these new monitors were not announced for the time being despite the fact that they look very attractive and offer impressive features, we can conclude that the prices may be in the competitive range of Samsung.
