Google is working with some device manufacturers to bring intelligent display devices with the integrated assistant to the market, from where new assistant experiences are offered via the intelligent display panel.
Google and Lenovo have launched the new Lenovo Smart Displays, which will be released tomorrow in two versions and colors, the first version including an 8-inch HD display for $199.99 and the second version including a 10-inch FullHD display for $249.99.
Of course, they are far more expensive than intelligent speakers, but these devices offer additional functions because of their integrated display.
In this sense, users can make video calls with Duo (there is no reference to Allo), view images from Nest Cam surveillance cameras, manage connected lights and other connected devices, watch live TV or TV content that has already been recorded if they are subscribers to YouTube TV, play favorite music through various services, know the weather forecast of the day, read the news from Google News, search for recipes, create shopping lists and much more.
Of course, with the Google Assistant, these intelligent screens offer a whole world of possibilities for using both Google services and third-party services, such as music playback, since they are compatible with other music services such as Spotify or Pandora.
Users can still use voice commands or press the options on the screen, taking into account that they have touch screens. It will be tomorrow, as we say, when these devices begin to be on the market, will be able to be purchased through physical stores, such as Walmart, as online stores, such as Lenovo.com or Amazon.com, among others.
What we don’t know is whether it will be available internationally, although from the list of stores it looks like it will arrive in the United States first.
