In the afternoon of yesterday, Apple surprised us with the early launch of the first public beta of iOS 11. That was presented a little more than twenty days ago in the event of the Worldwide Developer Conference WWDC 2017. If you are not a developer but require to try the first-hand beta version of iOS11 with all the new features of the new mobile operating system on your iPhone or iPad, then you can do it right now.
Enjoy iOS 11 without being a developer
IOS 11 is the next version of Apple’s mobile operating system for the iPhone, iPad and the “abandoned” iPod Touch. That brings lots of new features, ranging from mild improvements in design and performance to an entirely new center with much more useful and accessible control. It comes with a new management files system, a new application launcher, new multitasking options and new Dock on the iPad and much more. And now you can try it on your device even if you are not a developer.
Steps to follow for installation of beta version of iOS 11 in iPad and iPhone
For this purpose, the very first you have to do is sign up for the Apple Public Beta Program and follow these steps:
- From your iPhone or iPad, visit this Apple page and sign up/join the beta OS program using your Apple ID
- In the iOS section, scroll down to find the link “Enroll your iOS device” and hit it.
3. Like Apple, I advise you to backup your iPhone or iPad to iTunes. Do not forget that you are going to install a trial version, unofficial, and therefore, could contain bugs. So, “better to prevent …”
4. Click the “Download Profile” button.
5. The Settings app opens automatically to install the new profile. Press “Install” and, once installed the profile, you will be asked to restart the device. Do it.
6. Reboot the device, open Settings → General → Software Update. And you will see that you already have the iOS 11 Public Beta available. Follow the usual steps of any normal update and enjoy the news!
Cheers! From now on, every time Apple releases a new public beta update, you’ll have it available via OTA like any other system update.
