At the CES 2020, Intel demonstrated its discrete DG1 graphics based on the Xe architecture for the first time. A graphics card called DG1 was used for a short laptop demonstration.

The device used for the demonstration is not just a laptop, but an ‘ultra-thin’ one. It is expected that a similar graphics processor (in terms of specifications) will be added within the Tiger Lake processors that were also demonstrated during the event.
The demonstration did not include specifications and performance comparisons, in fact, it was quite short, but the GPU seems to be working at full capacity already. On stage, the laptop was seen with a video game, more specifically Destiny 2.
Intel DG1 is currently expected to have 96 execution units, which should result in about 768 shader units.
Intel Xe is Intel’s first major attempt to bring a really powerful graphics card or GPU from Raja Koduri exAMD to the consumer market. Although we shouldn’t expect it to compete with AMD or Nvidia’s options in the high-end market, at least not in the short term.

Intel’s Vice President of Graphics and Software Architecture, Lisa Pearce, gave a preview of Intel’s new Xe graphics architecture, which will bring massive performance improvements, in Tiger Lake and previewed Intel’s first Xe based discrete GPU, called “DG1”.
There will be much news about this Intel GPU in 2020.
