The brand had to highlight the i9-10980HK as its stronghold to emphasize its maximum frequency of 5.3 GHz. However, it seems that reaching this frequency is not very efficient. Thus, the 10th generation Intel Core i9 could consume more than just very powerful desktop chips.

There are many people who are looking forward to Intel and are waiting for a hiccup to show them. The fact is that the 10th generation edition didn’t excite many people and leaves a bittersweet taste. Intel highlighted the maximum 5.3GHz that the i9-10980HK reaches and described the i9 as the fastest portable processor ever. It seems that the i9 would have a minimum TDP of 45W, with a multiple of 107W or its maximum: 135W, which is 10W more than the previous i9-9980HK. They tested Thermal Velocity Boost, an automatic overclocking that works when the processor reaches a certain temperature. As the tweeter says, the chip gets 200MHz more when it’s at 65ºC or less; if it’s between 65ºC and 85ºC, it only increases by 100MHz.

We thought that Intel didn’t believe in seeing the Ryzen 9 3950X in this competition, but XMG has this chip for sale, as does CLEVO. Basically, because HXL published a tweet in which you can see two AIDA64 stress tests in a laptop with this Ryzen.
