Intel Core i7-8086K reaches 5 GHz as standard

The 40th anniversary of the Intel 8086 processor is approaching, so something big has to be prepared, the semiconductor giant is working on a new Core i7-8086K silicon from the Coffee Lake series, which will be able to reach a frequency of 5 GHz in its stock configuration, almost nothing.

Intel Core i7-8086K reaches 5 GHz as standard

The new Intel Core i7-8086K processor will reach the LGA 1151 platform with a base frequency of 4 GHz and a turbo frequency of 5 GHz, being the second mainstream processor to reach the 5 GHz barrier, as the first was the AMD FX-9590. This Intel Core i7-8086K will be a six-core, twelve-wire processor that could come at a price of approximately 481 Euros, which puts it above the launch price of the Core i7 8700K. Core i7-8086K would be accompanied by the new motherboards with the Z390 chipset, although it should be seamlessly compatible with the Z370.

The Intel Core i7-8086K will become the best processor for video games, offering an incredibly high clock rate along with a large number of threads and processing cores, making it Intel’s best mainstream processor and the most powerful ever released in single-core tasks.

The doubt is in the temperature that will reach this Intel Core i7-8086K, because the Core i7 8700K is already quite hot and this will be even hotter, unless Intel decides to use a solder to join the IHS with the die, which would be another nice gesture to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Intel 8086. What do you think of this Intel Core i7-8086K? You can leave a comment with your opinion.
