It seems that the Intel Core i7-8086K processor has finally been confirmed. It is said that the CPU that has been rumoured for some time will be announced on the Computex and will be ready to pre-order on June 8th.
We’ve already discussed this processor and its ability to easily reach 5 GHz, plus it’s a chip that commemorates the legendary Intel 8086 processor released 40 years ago.
The Intel Core i7-8086K processor will be an anniversary model to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the launch of the iconic Intel 8086 microprocessor. This will be the second time that Intel launches a processor as an anniversary, already with the Pentium G3258 that marked the twentieth anniversary of the first Intel Pentium chip.
According to OCUK sources, the chip has already reached several retailers with the code name (BX80684I78086K), however, it is claimed that the chip is under NDA, so they cannot advertise this chip or would be left without any stock in retaliation. The OCUK itself will receive 1,000 units of this Core i7 8086K processor, so we can guess that the chip will most likely have good availability worldwide at launch. The date of June 8 is said to be only for pre-ordering with a suggested price of around 400 Euros.
