Intel Comet Lake S, Core i9-10900, i7-10700K and i7-10700 prices leaked

Thanks to the productive hardware follow-up efforts of @momomo_us, we have price information on Intel’s upcoming Comet Lake S series of desktop processors, this time for the Core i9-10900, i7-10700K and i7-10700.

The leak revealed the first retail prices for Intel’s i9-10900, i7-10700K, and i7-10700, revealing Canadian prices of $679, $585 and $506 respectively.

This revealed a reduction in Intel prices per core as the same Canadian retailer is currently offering Intel i9-9900, i7-9700K and i7-9700 for $678 ($487), $578 ($419) and $502 ($363) at the time of writing this article. Compared to their next-generation counterparts, Intel’s new ten-core, twenty-thread i9 series will lead the way into the future, while Intel’s new eight-core, sixteen-thread i7 series will lead the way into the future, offering Intel fans more value for their money.

This seems to be a good offer for Intel users. However, it should not be forgotten that the Ryzen 3000 series is available from AMD, offering users 12 cores and 24 threads for about $430 (US) with their Ryzen 9 3900X at the time of writing this article. Looking at Intel’s pricing, it appears that AMD will continue to offer strong prices compared to its rival, although Intel’s focus on single-thread performance is likely to bring the company some benchmark battles.

Another factor to consider is that all AMD Ryzen series are equipped with cooling solutions as standard, something the Intel line usually lacks. With this in mind, AMD users have an even greater value proposition, so it is unlikely that Intel’s 10th generation processors will force AMD to lower its price.

Although these new prices are not official, they are better than those we had in the current Intel Core generation, but they will not exactly revolutionize the market. We will keep you informed.
