Intel surprises everyone by discontinuing its Arc A770 Limited Edition reference graphics card. Gamers who want to go for theArc A770 are going to have to resort to custom models from AIB partners, which are not as many as we would like.
The company usually accepts last orders before discontinuing, although in this case they have handled it differently.
The Product Change Notification (PCN) document states that yesterday, June 20, was the last product discontinuation order and ship date. This means that the last shipments of these graphics cards to major distributors will have already been made as you are reading this.
Some of the third-party manufacturers that are marketing their own models are Acer and Sparkle, for the 8 GB and 16 GB models. You’ve probably heard of the Acer Predator BiFrost Intel Arc A770 OC, which is priced at $339 in the US market.
It is quite possible that the Arc A750 Limited Edition graphics card will also meet a similar fate before long, although Intel has only discontinued the Arc A770, for the time being.
We know that we are still a long way off from seeing Battlemage graphics cards, which would arrive in 2024, but this year we should see a small update to the Arc series with new models. This move could have something to do with it.
By 2024, Intel expects to replace the Arc A750 and A770 GPUs with two new Battlemage GPUs. We will keep you updated on all the news.
