Intel ARC A380 desktop graphics card performance comparable to mobile RTX 3050 Ti

Intel Arc A380 ‘Alchemist’ has surfaced in a performance test by SiSoft Sandra, showing some specifications and possible performance expectations for this graphics card.

Intel Arc A380 would have the performance of GTX 1650 Super

Intel’s entry-level GPU for PCs can reach a clock speed of up to 2.45 GHz and has 128 execution units (UE). In the listing, we can see that the GPU has 4.8 GB of VRAM, which is a strange amount and proof that the tool does not identify this GPU correctly. This would also explain the low memory bandwidth of 25.68 GB/s, which is almost half that of the GTX 1650 Super.

According to the performance results, the Intel Arc A380 would have a similar performance to a GTX 1650 Super, although we always talk about the performance in SiSoft Sandra. Gaming performance could be different between the two GPUs, but it’s a hint.

Based on our current information, the Arc A380 GPU could be one of Intel’s entry-level models based on the DG2-128EU silicon. Another slimmed-down model with 96EU called Arc 350 is in preparation.

For more performance, Intel has a larger 512EU model in the pipeline. We don’t know if there will be an intermediate model, but it is very likely.

If the performance is indeed that high, Intel’s graphics card would not only compete against the GTX 1650 Super but also against other models like AMD’s “old” RX 580. However, we’ll have to wait for some gaming performance tests to say that for sure.
