Intel to Release 14th Generation CPUs for Laptops (Core-HX) Soon, Completing the Desktop Lineup with 65W Models
Intel has officially announced that they will soon launch the rest of their 14th-generation processors, specifically the Core-HX versions for high-performance laptops, and the 65W desktop variants that complete the range. Let’s take a closer look.
Until now, the only 14th-generation processors that have been released are the i9-14900K, i7-14700K, and i5-14600K, along with the “KF” variants that do not include integrated graphics. It’s well known that there are many more models on the way, and Intel confirmed this today.
Specifically, Intel held a special event in China where they showcased their new 14th-generation processors and discussed those that are coming soon. They explicitly mentioned the 65W CPUs, the Core-HX processors for laptops, and “custom Chinese variants,” which likely correspond to the i5-13490F and i7-13790F, to be exclusively launched in the Asian market.
What’s particularly interesting here is the imminent arrival of a new generation of high-performance laptop CPUs, which will undoubtedly find their place in gaming laptops, thanks to the increased efficient E-Core cores we have already seen, for example, in the desktop i7 models of this new generation.
Complete Lineup of 14th Generation Intel Desktop Processors
As mentioned earlier, only the Intel Core i5-14600K, i7-14700K, and i9-14900K have been released so far, along with their KF versions. The additional desktop variants we can expect soon include:
- Intel Core i5-14600, i7-14700, and i9-14900, with a locked overclocking multiplier, a 65W TDP, and slightly lower frequencies. Additionally, there will also be T versions with a 35W power consumption.
- There will be new variants of i5, such as i5-14400, i5-14400F, i5-14400T, i5-14500, i5-14500F, and i5-14500T. The i5-14400 will have both C0 and B0 variants, with one featuring 8 E-Core cores (similar to the higher-end i5 models) and the other having only 4 E-Core cores.
- Initially, the first i3 models will be introduced, maintaining 4 P-Cores and no E-Cores, including the i3-14100, i3-1400T, and i3-14100F. Don’t forget about the Intel 300 processor with 2 cores, which was revealed on our website a few months ago.
With this product lineup, the entire 14th generation of Intel processors is expected to be complete, marking the end of the LGA1700 socket era. The next step will be Intel’s response to AMD Ryzen 8000 and Zen 5, which will usher in a new generation under the LGA1851 socket. We will keep you updated on all developments in the processor world.
