These are the images of some ASUS Z370 motherboards in preparation

In less than two weeks, on October 5, Intel and its partners will present the components of the updated platform LGA1151 – four- and six-core processors Coffee Lake-S, as well as compatible motherboards based on the Z370 chipset. As we recently noted, this year’s set of system logic will not have alternatives: motherboards with chips H370, B360 and H310 will debut only in early 2018.

ASUS Z370 Processors

Proceeding from this, those wishing to acquire Core i7-8700K or other new generation CPUs before the New Year can be recommended to look at the Z370 models today. Fortunately, leaks of photographs (marketing sketches) of the prepared boards are enough, and their main characteristics are easily guessed because of the small differences between the Z270 and Z370 series of solutions.

Detailed Information of ASUS Z370

Before we go directly to the family of ASUS LGA1151 / Z370 motherboards, partially declassified by foreign VideoCardz colleagues, we will list the models that were not included in the selection. As we know, ASUSTeK Computer plans 15 products, and we can not say anything definite about eight of them yet.

Also, it’s about ROG Maximus X Hero (versions without built-in Wi-Fi / Bluetooth). ROG Maximus X Apex, ROG Maximus X Code, ROG Maximus X Formula. ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming, ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (Wi-Fi AC), ROG Strix Z370-I Gaming and TUF Z370-Plus Gaming. It is possible that some of the boards from the list will fall on store shelves later than others. Hence the lack of their sketches.

ASUS Z370 PCB

Among the innovations ASUS many models on the circuit-like PCB. So determine their hierarchy is not easy. We start with the ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming. Which has rather large radiators, a combined chiller, and M.2-chip cooler, three PCI Express 3.0 x16 connectors (electrically – x16, x8, and x4) and a SupremeFX audio subsystem.

ASUS Z370 I/O Functions

Among other things, the device has 10 phases of LGA1151 socket power supply, four DIMM DDR4 slots, six 6 Gbps SATA ports, at least two M.2 connectors for SSD and three PCI-E 3.0 x1. From a large number of internal USB connectors, select the USB 3.1 port located next to the ATX power socket and two USB 3.0 pins.

Also, the back panel shows the Wi-Fi antennas. Which means that the ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming has an appropriate adapter. There is a DVI video output and several Mini-Jacks. We believe the company adds USB 3.1 Type-A, USB 3.1 Type-C, several USB 3.0, single HDMI, RJ-45, optical S / PDIF and, possibly, other ports.

Comparison with other boards

Compared to the above-described motherboard, the ROG Strix Z370-F Gaming is designed in darker colors. But the differences between them are minimal. For a start, it’s a lack of a product with the F suffix of a Wi-Fi / Bluetooth adapter and an internal USB 3.1 port.

ASUS ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming will meet potential buyers of the classic for the Republic of Gamers series in black and red color. Unlike the ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming and Z370-F Gaming, this board does not have SATA 6 Gb / s connectors in two tiers. And in one, in addition, the heat sink for one M.2 SSD is either missing or is attached to as a complete accessory.

RGB backlight illumination does not seem to be provided. And the panel itself contains the following ports: USB 2.0, DVI-D, HDMI, USB 3.1 Type-A (2 pcs.), USB 3.0 (4 pcs.), PS / 2 for mouse and keyboard, single RJ-45 and optical S / PDIF, and five Mini-Jacks.

ASUS Z370 with Wi-Fi

The model ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC) has quite strange for both one of the top-end solutions . Z370 radiators of the VRM area of the processor socket. So not everyone will prefer it to the ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming and other above-described motherboards.

For the convenience of enthusiasts who want to experiment with overclocking CPU Core i7-8700K and Core i5-8600K. The novelty is equipped with a set of special buttons and switches. Part of the elements, like the MemOK! The button is convenient for troubleshooting. Fans of multicolor lighting will be interested in two areas with LEDs – on the casing of the rear I / O panel and the chipset radiator.

AORUS Z370 GIGABYTE motherboard specifications

To the series of motherboards TUF specialists ASUS “tried on” a lot of color options. In the product TUF Z370-Pro Gaming it is black-gray-yellow – following the example of the recently released TUF B350M-Plus Gaming card for AMD Ryzen processors. It is possible that this novelty will receive an extended warranty and more sensors in different parts of the PCB.

But for now, in the absence of an official specification. We can state only an attempt to pay a ROG Strix Z370-H Gaming fee (see above) under a different sauce. Judging by the small number of capacitors in the audio track, the ASUS TUF Z370-Pro Gaming is not suitable for audiophiles. Although the same can be said for other embedded solutions.

Specifications

The Prime Z370-A motherboard has the same roots as the ROG Strix Z370-F Gaming. But you can not put an equal sign between them. That is a representative of the Prime series at least simplifies the sound path and radiators of the cooling system of VRM transistors. With a detailed study of the characteristics (which will be published no earlier than October 5).

The other weak spots of the Prime Z370-A probably will also open. But this is by no means a “Spartan” version for upgrading. On the back panel, among other things. There are USB 3.1 Type-A and USB 3.1 Type-C connectors, and a DisplayPort video output.

Updating the PC with “little blood” will help to implement an inexpensive motherboard ASUS Prime Z370-P. It has only seven phases of the LGA1151 socket power supply, modest radiators, four SATA 6 Gb / s ports and two PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots. There is a shortage of connectors on the back of the I / O. It includes PS / 2, two USB 2.0, DVI-D and HDMI video outputs, four USB 3.0, a single RJ-45 port and three Mini-Jacks.

PRICES AND AVAILABILITY

We hope that the full specifications and prices of the motherboards ASUS Z370 will be known already in early October.
