Huawei released a new Kirin 980 Teaser. In which all the details of Kirin 980 gets unveiled, and ready to be presented at IFA 2018. The Huawei Mate 10, Huawei P20 and P20 Pro smartphones feature a Kirin 970 processor, which significantly improves performance by offering high processing quality in QHD+ resolutions.

However, we have known for several months that the company is working on a new chipset that surpasses the Kirin 970: the Kirin 980, a processor that promises to surpass the current 7nm. But that’s not all, because a new video is about artificial intelligence functions.

Huawei has on the social network Weibo that this August 31 at the IFA 2018, comes a new Kirin 980 chipset of the new generation.

However, the current teaser, in which they showed the new developments in the AI, is striking.

Under the slogan “Experience Smarter” the company announces the introduction of its new 7nm processor.

A few days ago, the company announced that this new model will be faster, smarter and more powerful as it will be accompanied by improvements in AI performance, certain aspects of CPU and GPU.

A Mali GPU and a second-generation NPU have been upgraded for new AI applications thanks to its new 7nm processor, which will use four Cortex A76 cores and four Cortex A55 cores with higher CPU performance. Improvement of speed by 20% and a reduction of energy consumption by 40%.

This SoC will come with a clock frequency of about 2.8 GHz and will have to deal with chipsets of the same dimension – 7 nm – as Apple 12 and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855, which are scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2019.

According to the CEO of the Huawei Consumer Division, the Kirin 980 will be launched in October this year with the Mate 20 series.
