HTC will equip more than 100 libraries with VR goggles

HTC Vive goggle makers are launching the Vive Libraries initiative.

HTC has announced the launch of the Vive Libraries program to equip 110 libraries in California and Nevada with virtual reality goggles. A year ago, a similar initiative was taken by googgle manufacturer Oculus Rift, who signed a partnership agreement with the California State Library to highlight the educational potential of VR technology.

In the case of Vive Libraries, visitors to the libraries will have access to 35 selected VR applications and educational games available on the Viveport digital platform. These include virtual excursions and museums, an application to move to the International Space Station, and even a program to sculpt in a virtual reality environment.
