As you probably know, HTC announced the HTC Vive for mobile. So that is a Daydream stand-alone VR helmet supposed to come out at the end of the year. There is not much information that has been unveiled so far for this product. HTC Link Specifications

Indeed, this new helmet, named as the HTC Link, is not part of the range “Vive” of HTC. Like the HTC Vive, it comes with two 3.6-inch OLED displays with the resolution of 1200×1080. In addition with the 90Hz frequency but surprise, the latter still requires a smartphone to operate. It also has a tracking system that allows it to propose positional tracking. Also it includes VR controllers.

The strangest thing about it? The helmet would not be part of the “Vive” series and will only be reserved for Japan. So indicating that the helmet might not be designed by HTC’s VR division. But by the smartphone division, which appears to be becoming less and less important In the eyes of Cher Wang , the president of HTC. So it is difficult to know what future will have this helmet, but in the meantime, our eyes are rather riveted to the Vive mobile.
