Today Honor 8X is officially launched on the European market. The smartphone controls the new HiSilicon Kirin 710 mid-shelf chipset with an eight-core processor (4x 2.2 GHz Cortex-A73 + 4x 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53) and a Mali-G51 MP4 quad-core GPU. Honor 8X has 4 or 6 GB RAM and 64 or 128 GB data memory, which can be expanded with a microSDXC card.
In the JSN-L21 edition, Honor 8X is equipped with a dual-band 802.11 ac Wi-Fi card and NFC, the other versions (JSN-L22 and JSN-L23) only support Wi-Fi in the 2.4 GHz band, and we will no longer use it to make contactless payments – no NFC. The phone debuts with the Android 8.1 operating system enriched with the Huawei EMUI 8.2 overlay.
The device has a large 6.5-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. Honor 8X supports two SIM cards in the nano-SIM format. They work in the DualSIM standby standard. The built-in, non-replaceable battery has a large capacity of 3750 mAh. Honor 8x left behind a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack and a fingerprint reader on the back of the device.
The phone has a size of 160.4 x 76.6 x 7.8 millimeters and weighs 175 grams. The device will be available in three colors: red, blue and black. Honor 8X is medium-sized, but would like to refer to the flagship Honor 10: The rear glass pane presents the classic brand pattern “zorzy polar”, the side aluminum frame is in smartphone color.
Honor 8X – robust, but not extravagant instruments
The main device of the smartphone consists of two modules. The first has a resolution of 20 megapixels (f/1.8, PDAF), the second is used to create a virtual bokeh effect of only 2 megapixels. The Honor 8X is equipped with AI technology, which detects 22 people and up to 500 scenarios during shooting and adjusts contrast, saturation, and balance of the captured colors accordingly.
The front digit captures 16 megapixels (f/2.0) of images. Both cameras capture Full HD movies at 30 frames per second. In the camera settings, you will also find the option to record sequences in slow motion (480 frames per second).
