With its cool initiative for adults who want to learn the basics of programming but don’t have much time or money to do so, Google is a great choice. To this end, the company will use the well-known method of “teaching while having fun”, providing us with an application that will facilitate your entry into the world of coding.
Grasshopper: A smartphone game from Google will teach you programming
You will find a variety of applications on the web that will familiarize you with various types of IT issues. Unfortunately, most of them are designed with the youngest in mind, so adults do not have much choice here and if they would like to learn about programming in this way, their options are rather limited to more advanced, time-consuming courses and programs and applications.
Google decided to do something about it and for almost a year the company has been developing its Grasshopper application, which is designed to teach adults the basics of JavaScript programming. The first tests have shown that it works very well and since yesterday anyone can download the application for Android and iOS starting their adventure with programming.
Of course, Google does not hide the fact that their application will not turn you into a professional encoder. Grasshopper is a tool that will teach you the basics of programming and, above all, will show you whether coding is of interest to you at all and whether you would like to develop further in this direction.
The application also has various functions encouraging us to learn – for example, it reminds us to take everyday lessons, and its functionality is based on the classical method of “teaching while playing”. By solving various puzzles and taking part in a wide range of mini-games you will gradually learn about JavaScript and gain the knowledge necessary for more advanced coding.
Well, that’s what we download and learn! I must admit that I have always been curious myself whether I have this “something” to develop in this direction and I will gladly check the Grashopper.
