Sometimes, in the world of virtual reality, you don’t need much to do to make something interesting. And it’s even better to give yourself the tools to create your own content. That’s what Google has done, and it’s uploading a virtual tour wizard into the network. We can design our own tour of the world and then watch it in virtual reality.
Google Tour Creator allows you to create virtual tours
Google has just created an interesting online tool that will allow almost everyone to create their own VR tour in an easy and intuitive way. It is a Tour Creator, which is also an extension of the Google Expeditions initiative. It allows students to take virtual tours and explore the world.
The Tour Creator tool is available in your browser. You can find them here. It is very easy to use and allows you to create your own VR tour relatively quickly. What’s interesting, apart from the fact that we have access to the whole database of materials from Google Street View, we can also upload our own 360-degree photos, traditional photographs, as well as add our own text descriptions.
Once we have created such a trip, we can share it on Google Poly, and then watch it in various VR goggles such as Cardboard or Daydream. Later this year Google plans to add the possibility of importing tours from the wizard to the application Expeditions for Android and iOS, which means that we will easily load them into e.g. relatively cheap Samsung Gear VR goggles.
