Today’s Google has revealed some surprises. One of them has to do with Chrome OS, Google’s operating system outside of Android. For the first time, a tablet with Chrome OS is official, this is the Google Pixel Slate. In addition to introducing 2 new smartphones, Google presented its new tablet, the Pixel Slate.
The Pixel Slate is light and slim in appearance and is presented as the midpoint between tablets and laptops. The Pixel Slate keyboard (US$ 199) and the Pixelbook pen (US$ 99) are also compatible.
The tablet consists of a “Molecular Display” made by 12.3″ and a resolution of 3000×2000. It contains different hardware configurations that go through different areas of Intel processors:
In the photography area, it includes 2 cameras with 8 MP, the front one being a wide-angle camera. It also includes a fingerprint reader and a USB type C.
This new tablet with a removable keyboard is not the first from Google, it still remains in memory, the Google Pixel C. But in contrast, the new Google Pixel Slate works with Chrome OS rather than with Android. What is interesting about this device? Probably the new keyboard with round instead of rectangular keys
The battery has a runtime of 10 hours and is equipped with a fast charging mode. This mode would fully charge the device in about 2 hours and 15 minutes.

The Chrome operating system has also been slightly redesigned to fit this new touchscreen. Now the keys are bigger and “tactile”, they concentrate more on being able to be operated with the fingers than with a pointer. Of course, the Google Assistant is now fully integrated into the operating system. More accessible and faster. But as soon as we plug in the official keyboard, it becomes the desktop Chrome OS we know.
