Google Lens now as a separate application

Google has decided to release a separate Lens application in the Play Store. From now on, you will be able to access the features it offers, even if our device on Android is not officially equipped with Lens. Unfortunately, many users report that not everything is working as it should for now.

Google Lens now as a separate application

The Google Lens application has the same functions as a “normal” Lens application. So it uses artificial intelligence to provide information about objects in the pictures, such as clothes, books, or buildings. As soon as we open the application, we can start searching for and identifying different things in our environment.

Although the application can be downloaded easily, it is not compatible with all devices in Android. For example, it works with Samsung Note 8, but we will not run it on Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. Neither does it work with Xiaomi Mi A1 or Nokia 7 Plus, although the minimum application requirements are just Android Marshmallow.

So far, Google Lens exists natively only within the webcams on Pixel phones, some OnePlus devices, and Xperia XZ2, and it seems that although the application has now come out on a wider scale, users will still have to wait for some phones. On the other hand, whoever really wants to use Lens, always is able to buy the flag of Google, means Pixel. You will see a list of prices of these phones below.
