Google Home supports navigation voice commands during calls

Last year, Google Home obtained support for calls and now, about a year later is filling one of the most apparent gaps, introducing the possibility of giving navigation voice commands during a phone call.

Although therefore, for a year now, Google’s smart speaker had been enriched with support for voice calls, there were still some notable shortcomings. One of these was the impossibility to formulate requests for the insertion of numbers during calls, necessary for example for navigation within the menus of automatic systems. That shortcoming has finally been filled, so users can now safely ask Google to “press” numbers during a call.

The Android Police team has already conducted the first tests on this new feature and confirmed that it works correctly. Phone menu navigation should now be backward compatible with older system menus (many automatic systems support voice navigation, although not all). Below you can see the video documenting the operation of the new feature.

Google itself has officially confirmed the introduction of support by Google Home for voice input for navigating menus of telephone systems through its support documentation.

As you read in the image above, Google claims to be working on the new feature, which therefore should not be “currently supported.” It seems that the page in question needs to be updated.
