Google Fi allows you to call via WiFi while blocking spam calls

Google Fi, Google’s telecommunications project that enables everything from sending SMS to making phone calls has been updated to include improvements to combat spam calls.

Through an official statement, Google announced that it had updated its Fi tool to correct some errors related to the wave of spam calls received by iPhone and Android users following the publication of an unlimited plan.

Spam alerts and the ability to block certain numbers are now available on all Fi-compatible phones, including the iPhone, so you don’t have to worry about unwanted calls.

Mountain View extended the telephony plans to Android and iOS users, but this led to abuse of spam calls, as expected, the users did not get this with a positive face.

In this context, Google has released a new update that not only blocks or warns spam calls but also introduces a feature that makes it possible to make calls over WiFi. The known telephony bots are very common in the United States, so users use tools to block them.

However, this is not enough for Google Fi users, so the company announced that from now on you will receive a spam message on your Android or iOS screen. New features include a specific number of pads and WiFi calls.

Earlier this year, Google announced new features for Fi that implement a rich messaging service (RCS) based on IP telephony subsystems that would replace traditional SMS.

Mountain View then added a new update to the scope of the call and messaging services for Android and iPhone users, now Google Fi even extends international data coverage.
