As promised, Google Chrome has now introduced a new tab grouping feature that allows you to easily manage a large number of open tabs in your browser. The feature has been available in the Chrome beta since May this year and is now available in a stable version.
If you are one of those people who use chrome on a large scale, you may have encountered a situation where you have a large number of tabs open at the same time. In this case, it is sometimes difficult to know exactly what we have open. Now you can group them by topic to find what you need faster. With a single click, you can expand a group of tabs and do the opposite in the same way.
Now you can simply right-click and group tabs. The tab groups are also configurable, so you can give them custom names and colors. After you have grouped the tabs, you can move and rearrange them in the tab bar.
Google Chrome now has tab grouping for better tab management
The tabs in this group can be easily collapsed, expanded, or dragged and dropped with them. They also appear when Google Chrome is closed or reopened. This is just one of the features that the company has added in the newer version. With Google’s performance improvements in Chrome, this feature will become even more valuable. According to it, tabs open 10 percent faster so you won’t get stuck between tasks.
Google has also introduced Profile Guided Optimization (PGO) and tab limiting features that allow tabs to load up to 1% faster. PGO allows certain parts of the code to run faster, while tab limiting allocates resources from the inactive tab to the active tab.
The company also plans to add support for touch screen controls in the Chrome web browser soon, allowing laptop users to slide through individual tabs in tablet mode. However, the feature will be added for Chromebooks first, before adding support for other devices.
