Google is still looking to expand its smartphone portfolio. The idea is to create a Pixel phone for sale in the so-called emerging markets. It is apparently mainly India, but some European countries could also be tempted. At the moment, these reports are at the stage of loose rumours.
Google can announce a cheaper Pixel before the end of the year
The case was reported by the Economic Times. News from Google is that it’s supposed to be quite warm about India as a potential market for mid-market Pixel. It is likely that the telephone would have excellent sales in such a market. It is worth noting that Pixel in the midrange range would be an excellent product in Europe.
For the time being, of course, there is no specific mention of this. Currently, we have the second generation of Pixels on the market, which we can also buy for a small amount of money. Introducing a new, cheaper handset on the market would be a good solution. You may already be working on your phone at an advanced stage. According to anonymous sources, such equipment could appear for the first time in public around July or August of this year.
Google invests heavily in India. The company intends to release its smart speakers and the latest Pixelbooks there. No wonder that there are rumours about the new smartphone.
