The long-awaited HTC Vive Pro goggles are finally making their debut on the market. The official premiere took place on 3rd April this year. The device will be sold on its own, i.e., there will be no user tracking system or motion controllers in the set. But soon people who don’t have HTC Vive will be able to use Vive Pro.

As of today, April 5th this year, HTC is launching the Vive Pro Starter Kit. It of course includes the HTC Vive Pro goggles, plus two SteamVR Tracking 1.0 base stations and two motion controllers (also 1.0). The price is genuinely prohibitive – the set was valued at $1099. The headset itself can be bought for $799.

Also, HTC has a special offer for HTC Vive users. After purchasing the Pro, they will get $100 to spend in the official headset store and will also have one year access to Viveport. It is worth remembering that already around the corner we have the premiere of SteamVR Tracking 2.0. The stations are to be smaller, quieter, more energy efficient and effective. The tracking range is to be increased from 4.5 to 4.5 meters to 10 meters. However, there will have to be four stations, not two so far.

Now HTC Vive Pro is going to be sold worldwide. For the time being, we still have to wait or order the equipment directly from the manufacturer. However, if you have not invested in HTC devices yet, you may also be interested in the “ordinary” HTC Vive, which will be available in Polish shops without any problems. That is still one of the best virtual reality goggles on the market.
