General Electric (GE) has today advanced two of the new products that it will launch throughout the current year within its intelligent lighting line C by GE. These two products are a ceiling lamp and a wall switch, both with intelligent and fully functional capabilities without the need for hubs or additional hubs.
GE shows a ceiling light and switch compatible with Alexa and the Google Assistant
Both will have the ability to be controllable by voice through Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant, as users want. That is, both the ceiling lamp and the switch will admit instructions by sound. In which you can choose between any of the two most established virtual assistants in the market.
But that’s not all, since the ceiling lamp, which has a circular shape. And that is intended to be the primary light of the room in which it is installed. Also, that will have a distinctly visible speaker in its central part. That opens up a lot of possibilities since users will be able to listen to the answers to the questions they ask the attendees. And even looking for all the musical themes they request from them.
Through this lamp, users will also be able to control all those other connected devices that they have.
But the most curious thing is that all the capabilities. That can be obtained with the ceiling lamp can also be made with the new switch. Also, that includes the possibility of listening to music, although it is not the most optimal. Through which the possibility of controlling all those lights that do not have the “smart” capabilities that connects with it. Also, you can control the rooms in the future to generate an optimal environment at all times thanks to the motion, humidity and temperature sensors.
Apart from these two new devices, GE also plans to launch support so that its bright lights are compatible with the Apple HomeKit connected home system, further expanding the possibilities of use. GE does not want to be left behind and wants to have its comprehensive ecosystem of connected devices. In which the portfolio of products will continue to expand.
