Mozilla has just released a new version of its Firefox Quantum browser, Firefox 61. The program includes user experience enhancements, performance optimizations, and new features.
The Firefox Quantum browser is now available in version 61. This release, for the summer of 2018, brings many things. The browser makes it easy to add custom search engines to the address bar.
The application is enriched with a Tab Warming function. Mozilla explains
“This feature allows Firefox to start loading a tab even before the user clicks on it, simply by moving the mouse cursor.”
In addition, there is the Accessibility Tools Inspector. Its purpose is to facilitate the work of creators and developers. They can more easily imagine pages that are easy to access. WebExtension tab management allows you to hide tabs and manage browser behavior when opening or closing them. These features are useful for example if you want to launch a tab to listen to music without wanting it to take up space while surfing the Internet.
Firefox 61, the new feature
Finally, Firefox 61 is enriched with the “display list conservation” feature. This is a local backup of recently visited content. The goal is to avoid re-downloading them each time you view them. The navigator should in this way improve its speed in certain circumstances.
Firefox 61 is available for download directly from Mozilla’s website. If you are a user, the browser has an automatic update function available in “About Firefox”.
