Mozilla offers new maintenance for version 59 of its Firefox Quantum browser. Proposed for different environments including Windows, this version includes several patches and various improvements.
Firefox 59.0.2 is deployed, Mozilla fixes several bugs, review
The development team announces the resolution of the “processor and memory” overload problem with some third-party applications. Mozilla does not go into details, however. We do not know if this problem, encountered by some PCs, concerns all environments.
In parallel, rendering improvements are proposed when hardware acceleration is active. A patch fixes a problem with broken shortcuts like Ctrl + C on some websites using these keys with the resistFingerprinting function enabled. This version also fixes a bug around the reloading of proxy parameters.
Firefox 59.0.2, the hunt for crashes
The browser should no longer “crash” intermittently when attempting to cancel a print job. Added to this are other little things like an audio problem on various BSD systems like DragonFly, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD. Finally, several crash problems have been solved for Windows 7 users using touch screens and applications like StickyPassword that interact with the browser through its accessibility services.
Firefox 59.0.2 is available for MacOS, Windows, and GNU / Linux operating systems. Mozilla also starts the OTA update for current browser users. The download and installation will then typically be automatic.
