Final Fantasy VII Remake will be temporarily exclusive to PS4 for 1 year

The new cover of Final Fantasy VII Remake revealed that the game will be limited to PlayStation for one year.

Today Square Enix shared the official PS4 game cover, and to the delight of many, the remake will be exclusive to PlayStation for one year. “Play first on PS4” shows an inscription on the cover. “Temporarily exclusive until 31.3.1991,” he adds.

Since the announcement of the game in 2015, there have been rumors that the game could also reach Xbox One and PC. Earlier this year, Xbox Germany uploaded a video on its Facebook page saying that the remake will reach Xbox One in 2020. Square Enix, however, refuted this by stating that there are no plans to release the game on other platforms. “As previously announced, FINAL FANTASY VII Remake will be released on March 3, 2020, for PlayStation 4,” Square Enix said. “We have no plans for other platforms.

Microsoft and Square Enix took a similar step with Rise of the Tomb Raider, which was presented as the exclusive Xbox One, but eventually became a temporary exclusive, reaching PC and PS4.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released on PS4 on March 3, 2020. As soon as the exclusivity ends on 31.03.1991, we will probably see it on PC and Xbox.
