It’s not the first time we’ve told you about Facebook’s interest in competing with streaming video game platforms like Twitch or YouTube Gaming. Even so, everything seems to indicate that Facebook is taking this idea to the next level. Recently, the social network has begun to test a portal dedicated to the world of streaming video games from which we can access both live and delayed games.
Specifically, the portal we’re talking about at the moment is publicly available at the link fb.gg. As you can see, the new games video section allows us to browse the latest streaming videos by game and by a user, highlighting live videos from games like Fortnite or Dota 2.
If you’ve previously used platforms like Twitch, the concept is very similar: on the one hand, we have live streaming of the game and on the other a chat where viewers can communicate with each other. Of course, the person playing live will be able to talk with the spectators by voice.
Also, Facebook seems to be making every effort to offer users opportunities and incentives to create a niche for themselves on the platform. According to TechCrunch, in the coming months, the social network will announce a program called Level Up, whose objective is to allow users to earn money thanks to viewers who buy and sell virtual items during video streaming.
